Description:

The Oracle Database Administrator will be responsible for providing support to install, upgrade and tune/modify Oracle Server and PostgreSQL Server instances, as well as provide operational support/recommendations related to database backups, recovery, migrations, and security roles on a project basis as well as break/fix.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oracle Server & PostgreSQL Server script stored procedure, and package development
• Participate in Agile meetings and work with various teams to provide DBA related support
• Plan and implement database migrations, collaborate on automation efforts
• Continue to learn new skills and expand knowledge in a rapidly changing digital landscape
• Design new systems and provide recommendations related to Oracle Server or other relational databases
• Respond to critical issues related to database administration and thoroughly document the root cause and resolution via dedicated ticketing/project tracking applications

Qualifications:

• Highly skilled with Oracle Server and PostgreSQL
• Experience working with virtual machines in access-controlled environments
• Degree in computer science an asset.

Skills:

• Exceptional communication skill to be able to describe and translate complex information to stakeholders clearly and concisely, as well as record all troubleshooting/project related tasks via ticketing system
• Ability to collaborate effectively with internal resources and clients
• Strong problem-solving skills; preventing data loss and mitigating database issues is critical to maintaining SLA's
